This tour combines the visit of the archaeological site of Pompeii with that on the Mount Vesuvius, the famous Campania Region volcano.
Pompeii is a popular destination for travelers today. The city was destroyed by the eruption of the Mount Vesuvius in the year 79 A.D and now it is recognized as a Unesco World Heritage Site. In Pompeii ruins you will enjoy a walking tour through the streets to see forums, villas, baths and more built by the Romans in the year 80 B.C. The villas are adorned by the preserved frescoes which will enchant you like also the Amphitheatre, the Theatres, the Forum, the patrician domus with gardens and the temples dedicated to the gods.
The second stop of our day tour is the Mount Vesuvius which is the only active volcano on the mainland of Europe. We will climb to within 1.000 metres of the top of Vesuvius and from here we will can admire the panoramic view on the bay. This experience will be a journey through history, geology and nature.
The last stop of our tour will be up at a Winery where you can have the wine tasting to become familiar of the wine production, the different type of viticulture used in the Campania region and taste the famous wine called Lacryma Christi. The wine testing to the wine farm is also intended as a place to have lunch with a delicious menu, dedicated to lovers of our simple culinary tradition.
